ABOUT PROJECT
Jamaica College PTA Shoppe Restructuring is a project by the Jamaica College PTA to transform the PTA Shoppe into a docu-centre that seeks to serve all stakeholders at Jamaica College, but primarily those at risk youth between the ages of 11 and 19 years. It aims to provide computer and internet services for those young men who do not have such facilities at home and are hindered in their research for assignments, projects, School Base Assessment (SBAs) and Internal Assessments (IAs). The project will provide additional services such as typing, emailing, colour printing, photocopying, binding and laminating of assignments, projects, SBAs and IAs. Finally, to change the present infrastructure to facilitate the secure storage and accessibility of stationery supplies and other school supplies as well as memorabilia.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
LONG TERM OUTCOME
To create a facility that enables access to homework and study resources on campus, resulting in improved educational outcomes for underserved students.
INTERMEDIATE OUTCOME
Improved academic performance from ready access to cutting edge computer facilities and increased operational efficiencies of the PTA Shoppe
SHORT TERM OUTCOME
Greater access to docu-centre and printing/research services provided to our boys.
